The importance of Vedas as an ancient literature and foundation of Hindu Religion Civilization is exceptional. Vedas are considered to be “Apourusheya” (Devine). They were not conceived and written by men but under the auspices of God were glimpsed & heard by sages who recited them. This mystical literature was not created in a jiffy but took thousands of years to compose. They are immortal. The word Veda is devised from Sanskrit verb “Vida” means knowing, understanding, grasping of knowledge. During the aeons of Dwapar & Kali thousands & thousands of “Richas” were accumulated. It was imperative to categorise and systematically arrange them for ease of learning and teaching. Sages who recited psalms, hymns, incantations, appointed maharishi Dwaipayan to set them in order. He categorised them in four parts – “Rug”, “Yaju”, “Atharva”, and “Sam”. Created four themes & asked his four disciples to expand them. |

The first “Rug” theme was given to disciple named “Paeel”. Rug Veda can be arranged in two ways : Octave and Circular structures. The complete Rug Veda’s 10552 ruchas in 1028 suktas composed in 10 mandals are written by 390 rishis, out of which are 29 women. Some psalms are written by savants from other casts. It shows that Rug Veda is not a monopoly of Brahmins, other casts too are involved. Study of Rug Veda shows that it consists of 10% of it’s incantations are devoted to religious dictate. 90% of its content dictates Astronomy, Geography, Water cycles, Seasons cycle, Stars, Planets, their orbital sphere, Speed, Gravity, Health, Medicine, Surgery, Diagnosis & Prognosis, Affairs of State, Foreign Trade, Foreign Affairs, Farming, Law, Irrigation, Destruction of Enemy, Security of State, etc. In fact Rug Veda is not religious but more of a book of social affairs, environment. It also states worship of Solar Power and its usage for the well being of human race. Rug Veda also speaks of Atoms, Molecules, Fission, Fusion, Electrons, Protons, Telecommunications, Television, Telephones, Video Conferencing, etc. Waterways, Voyages, Sailing, Water transport, Boating, Submarines, Lakes, Dams, Canals are discussed in another chapter. It all shows that Rug Veda is to be studied or read whenever we want to. Simply it is a book of social awakening and enlightenment. |

| Bhagwan Shree Krishna has narrated the characteristic of Sthitapradnya (Resigned) person-Sukha Dukkhe Samekrutva, Labha Labhau Jaya Jayau, (we get it, its alright – we lose it, no problem) for this kind of characteristic one needs patience & tolerance. We deshasthas are like that. We are like a shrouded ruby whose radiance, brilliance spreads all over. Many of the saints belong to our creed. We are lion hearted. Giving is our tenet. श्रावणी समारंभ
दरवर्षीप्रमाणे यंदाही देशस्थ ऋग्वेदी ब्राह्मण संघातर्फे श्रावणीचे आयोजन श्री गणेश मंदिर संस्थान येथे केले होते. सदरहू उपक्रमासाठी २० नागरिकांनी सहभाग घेतला. बदलापूरहून श्री.कुलकर्णी गुरुजी आले होते. त्यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली उपक्रमाची यशस्वी सांगता झाली.
