Our institution (Sangh) was started way back in 1969 with intention to bring community members under one roof so everyone can celebrate festivals or events and getting to know each other since all of us have come to this town from all over India. Sense of belonging and security is the mainstay of founding the institution. The culture among all Brahmin communities though seem to be similar, we are different from each other in our behavior, thinking, food, relations, identities and many other things. Our identity and belonging to community makes us secure among the plethora of religions, casts, creeds, sects, etc. Each community is unique in its identity and one should preserve it, since we are staying away from our original place of birth and relatives. |
Monthly Meetings |
Our Sangh's monthly meeting is held every 3rd Saturday, 7.00 PM. The general agenda of the meeting is: Welcome by Adhyaksha, Prarthana, reading notice, offering condolences to dead member/s if any, reading of last meetings minutes, discussion on important subjects, forthcoming events, woes of disgruntled member/s if any, any other subject with the permission of president and final prarthana which ends meeting. At every meeting, one of our trustees is present to advice the committee. |
Souvenir |
Our Sangh was formed way back in 1969. After about 25/26 years later our first souvenir was published. When new managing committee under the leadership of Mr. Arvind Hastekar was assembled in February 2003, president & committee, after lot of deliberations, decided to publish a souvenir as fund raising project giving fair idea about our Sangh. The souvenir consists of editorial, presidents thoughts, names of past managing committee members, founders, trustees as well as various committees who worked for annual get together of 2003 when this souvenir was published. It also has names of eminent people who were felicitated, names of various donors, names of members as per categories, names of meritorious students. In last section of souvenir, an article on Rug Veda by Mr. Madhav Zambare, an article about importance of cast & culture in society by Dr. Vrunda Kaujalgikar and an obit to one of our founder, trustee & devotee Late Shri. Raghunath Vasudeo Mandgavane by Mr V. R. Patil is printed. It also has group photos of monsoon picnickers, kojagiri festival and advertisements all over which brings in revenue. |
